Germany: Leading the Renewables Revolution
Meet leaders from Germany and Minnesota who are involved in solving the social, technical, and political challenges of transforming industrial economies in the era of climate change.
Fees
This immersive program's fee includes group-flight airfare, program administration, housing, some meals, international health insurance, entrances to course-related excursions and site visits, simultaneous interpreting, and local transportation.

2025 program cost: $4,964
​
Tuition for Undergraduate students: full-time students (students who are enrolled in a minimum of 13 credits for the spring 2025 semester not counting this course) will not be charged extra tuition. Students who are enrolled in 12 or fewer credits for spring 2025 will be charged the cost for up to 3 credits.

For graduate students, fee structure needs to be addressed on an individual basis. Tuition is not included in the total cost of the program unless specified by your graduate program. However, a scholarship of $1,500 is available for the 2025 program. Please contact Beth-Mercer Taylor (bethmt@umn.edu) for more information.

There are scholarships available for this program through Learning Abroad as well as the Institute on the Environment (IonE) through the Ecolab Scholars program. Please do apply as soon as possible for aid, which requires evidence of your financial need.

Note: If you plan to use financial aid in the form of loans and/or grants to study abroad, consider requesting a Study Abroad Cost Estimate (SACE). The SACE documents all financial aid-eligible costs of your study abroad program, is used to adjust your cost of attendance, and allows you to access the adjusted amount to pay for your study abroad expenses.

Ecolab Scholarships for Learning Abroad are intended to:

Ease the financial barrier to study abroad for students with significant financial need.

Provide assurance of funding earlier in the process and encourage early financial planning.

Increase representation of economically disadvantaged students on study abroad programs.
This opportunity is only available to undergraduate students at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities campus.
